The Santa Fe Raptor Center is a registered nonprofit 501 ( c ) (3) organization that relies on private contributions to finance wilidlife care. First and foremost, your tax deductible donations will provide medical supplies, veterinary care, and feeding and housing for our rehabilitating birds. The educational goals, research work, and growth of the facility will follow with your generous support.
Volunteer:
As the Santa Fe Raptor Center grows, there will be an increasing need for dedicated and knowledgeable volunteers. Volunteers are the heart and soul of nonprofit centers like ours and provide much needed help in a variety of jobs. Hands on work includes cleaning cages, feeding birds, and transporting patients. Volunteers with experience in construction, fund raising, publicity, computer and office work are also most welcome.
Share Awareness:
Your activities have an effect on wildlife. Many injured raptors have been struck by cars, so drive slowly and carefully in rural and unpopulated areas. Cats kill and maim songbirds and young mammals, so keep them inside during the day, especially in baby bird season. Birdbaths and feeders can spread disease, so clean yours once a week. Using poisons as pest control and hunting with lead shot can result in the secondhand posoning of a raptor who feeds on the victims.
